UNIT 15: WOMEN IN SOCIETY
LESSON 2: B. SPEAKING
I. Aims: Through the lesson, students can:
-Students practice speaking skills
-Students get to know about a scientific field “Women
in society".
-Students know the ways of expressing opinion.
-Students know more vocabularies and structures.
II. Aids: English textbook 12, Pictures in the textbook, Black board, Hand-
out
III. Procedures:

Warm up (10 minutes)
- Greet students
- Write day, date, month and name of unit of the
lesson on the board.
- Check students' vocabularies by asking them
playing crossword.
- Deliver the handout
- Call different students to complete the
crossword.
- Check and correct students' mistakes.

- Greet the teacher
- Do the exercise without using dictionary or the
textbook.
- Read the meaning and try to remember all the
new words in the previous lesson and then work
individually.
- Receive the handout and do the exercise
- Write down the answer on the board.

Task 1 (8 minutes)
- Introduce to students the ways of giving and
expressing agreement or disagreement.
- Ask students to practice individually the way
of giving opinion by using expression in the
textbook.

- Listen to teacher's introduction. Pay attention
to the way of expressing opinion: language,
gesture, and intonation…
- Look at the book and try to remember the way
of expressing ideas in different situation.
- Practice speaking the expression out. First,
work individually.
Task 2 (12 minutes)
- Ask students to work in pairs or in group to
practice using the models of giving opinion.
- Call some students to read out statements in
the textbook. Others listen and give their own
opinion by using the expression, which they
have learnt.

men are usually stronger than women?
+ Men are better at making decisions than

Task 2 (12 minutes)
- Work in pairs or in groups. Practice using the
model of giving opinion in the textbook.
- Talk with friends the statements in the
textbook and then express agreement or
disagreement by using the model.
- Give their opinion. Use expression of
agreement or disagreement.

this idea. I think women are as good at making
decisions as men. ….

- Ask students practice speaking in group about
the statement" Married women should not go to
work". Let them speak freer. Remind them try to
