- Understand and practise describing their friends and someone/s
appearance
2. Knowlege:
* Vocab: Adj: slim, straight, curly, bald, blond, brown
* Grammar: “What does she look like ?”
* Pronunciation:
3. Skills: Speaking, Listening and Writing
II. PREPARATION:
1. Teacher: Lesson plan, Textbook, Teacher’s book, cassette,
posters
2. Students: Textbook, notebook.
+ Find out adjectives to describe people’s appearance.
III. PROCEDURES:
1. Revision: (5’) Matching (Ss work in groups)

I. PRE-SPEAKING: (12’)
1. Vocabulary:
- Slim (Adj.). (Pict.)
- Straight (Adj) (Pict.)
- Curly (Adj)(Pict.)
- Bald (Adj)(Pict.)
- Blond (Adj) (Pict.)
- Brown (Adj)(Pict.)
- Elicits first and says out the words.
- Writes and checks
* Checking vocab: R.O.R
- Answer the questions.
- Try out & repeat chorally-
individually.
- Give the meaning & pronounciation.
- Read and rewrite them on the board.

2. Presentation picture
- Shows the picture and elicits the language
- Asks Ss to repeat the model and then writes
the model on the board.
- Elicits the meaning, use, form & pro.
- Focuses Ss on the position of Adj in the
noun phrase.
- Asks Ss to use the model again.

?What color is his T-shirt trousers ?
* Model: Describe someone/s appearance
Lan: What does she look like?
Hoa: She is slim. She has long black hair.

II. WHILE-SPEAKING: (10’)
Picture-cue drill. (P. 11-12)
- Shows the pictures and runs them through
- Makes the model and leads Ss/ drilling
- Asks them to work in groups, encourages Ss
to use more language.
- Sticks the picures and asks: What does she/
he look like?
- Helps Ss to correct if necessary
III. POST-SPEAKING : (12’)
* Listening task: Listen & complete the
conversations. (P.12)
- Sets the scene and plays the tape twice.
- Asks Ss to share their results
- Plays the tape again
- Gets feedback.
- Plays the tape once again and help Ss to
correct their answers- predictions.
- Asks Ss to practise the dialogues in pairs
and then play the role orally.
- Look at the pictures.
- Work in choral and individually.
- Answer T/s questions.
- Analize the structure, use and the
position of adjectives in a noun phrase
- Play the role with the model.
* Use and form : When we ask and
answer about someone/s appearance,
we use:
- What does she/he look like?
- She/he is slim/fat/thin ........ She/he
has ....
* Notes: She has short curly blond
hair
- Read out the phrases
- Make the model with teacher
- Do groupwork, practising describing
the pictures.
- Go to the board and describe the
pictures.
* Example exchange: (Pic. a)
S1: What does she/he look like?
S2: He is tall and thin. He has short
black hair.
- Listen and fill in the gaps.
- Work in groups & share their ideas.
- Listen and check their results.
- Speak out their choices.
- Check and choose the correct ones,
then compare it with their predictions.
- Read the dialogues in pairs and play
the role orally.

Guessing game:
- Asks Ss to choose the picture and describe him or her. The left will
listen to him/her and guess by asking the questions: Is that Ann/........?
IV. HOMEWORK: (3’)
- Asks Ss to do exercise 3-P.6,7 (workbook) and write a paragragh about
their father
- Asks Ss to prepare: Read - P.13.
