I. AIMS/OBJECTIVES OF THE LESSON
1. Language focus - To provide Ss with new words and phrases to
describe a person
- To help Ss prepare material for speaking
2. Skills - To help Ss develop their skill of describing the appearance and
personality
3. Attitudes - To encourage Ss work in pairs and groups
II. PREPARATION

- Teaching method: Communicative language teaching
2. Students: - Read Unit 1 – speaking at home
III. PROCEDURE
1. Class organization (1 minute)
2. Check – up (5 minutes) - Some Ss go to the board to – write down new
words
- make a list of some qualities for a true friendship
3. New lesson (35 minutes)

1. Warm up
Gives some adjectives, asks Ss to arrange
them into columns of appearance or
character

2. Presentation and practice:
Task 1
Asks Ss to look at the picture
Asks them to revise some adjectives for
appearance
Asks them to work in pairs and describe
each people in the picture
Task 2
Asks Ss to review some adjectives for
describing character
Asks them to order these adjectives
according to the importance in friendship
Work in pairs , do as appointed
A: Can you describe the man in the picture?
B: The man is tall. He has got a square face, a
crooked nose and a high forehead with fair hair. He
dresses formally. He looks manly
The boy is medium height. He has got a round face,
a straight nose and a broad forehead with grey hair.
He wears glasses. He looks intelligent.
The girl is medium height. She has got a long face
with grey hair. She wears uniform. She is short-
sighted
The woman is tall. She has got an oval face with
long blond hair and a well-built body. She dresses
beautifully. She looks attractive.
