Neil Armstrong was a famous American astronaut. He
is well known all over the world as the first human to
walk on the moon. Neil Armstrong was born on August
5th 1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio. He had a successful career
in space exploration.
From 1949 to 1952, he worked as a pilot in the US
Navy. Armstrong received his BS from Purdue
University in 1955. Seven years later, he joined the
NASA astronaut programme. On July 20th 1969, Neil
Armstrong became the first human to set foot on the
moon’s surface.
Armstrong received his MS from the University of
Southern California in 1970. He resigned from NASA a
year later.
Between 1971 and 1979 he taught at the University of
Cincinnati. In 1976, Armstrong was appointed vice
chairman of the committee that investigated the space
