- Some students talk about the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza

1. Before you listen
- Work in pairs, ask and answer the questions
In the picture, we can see the Great Wall of China. It was built a
very long time ago
- Asks some pairs of Ss to
present
- Instruct Ss to study words
and phrases in listen and
repeat
2. While you listen
Task 1
- Ss read out information in task 1 and check understanding
- Listen to the tape, do task 1 then compare the answer with their
partner

Task 2.
- Ss read out information in task 2 and check understanding
- Listen to the tape, do task 2 in pairs then compare the answer

3. Because of its significance and magnificence
4. The part of the northwest Beijing is the best choice for visit

- Work in groups and summarize the listening passage:
+ Ancient Chinese are said to have built the Great Wall during
the Ming Dynasty
+ Probably, it took over 200 years to complete the wall
+ The wall is said to be visible from the moon.
+ The length of the wall is about 6000km and its average height
is 11 meters.
