A. Objectives.
After ending this lesson, students will be able to write a letter of
recommendation.
They can write about beautiful sights of the country.
B. Teaching aids. Textbook, lesson plan./ Hand out, pictures.
C. Procedure.

1. Warm up
Show the pictures of some famous places.
Ask students to work in groups name out the
places.
Have some students give the answer.
Give the correct answer.
Ask students to look at the picture of HaLong Bay.
Talk free about the place you know.
2. Pre- writing.
Task 1:
Introduce the task 1 and how to do.
Give the require
Work in groups and complete the letter with the
missing sentences in the box
Go around to help students.
Give some meaning of the new words.
Call students to answer the questions.
Give the correct answers.
Ask students to look at the letter, define the form of
recommendation letter.
T writes the outline on the board
3. While- writing.
Task 2:
Explain the require of the task:
David, your pen pal, is going to spend his summer
vacation in one of ASEAN countries. You want
him to visit Viet nam. Write a letter to him
recommending a significant place you are familiar
with.
Give some cues to help students to do it easier.
- Date
- Salution
- Body:
+ location/ +nature feature / +entertainment
+places to visit / + food / + people…….
- Closing.
- Signature
Note students they can choose any place to write
but should base on the outline.
Go around to help students
