LESSON 4: WRITE
I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Aims: At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to know the form
of the notice and write notices about their programs at school.
2. Knowlege:
* Vocabulary: resident (n), effect (n), have an effect on, custumer (n),(to)
hold / held,held/, (to) contact
* Grammar: How to write a notice
3. Skills: Reading, writing and speaking.
II. PREPARATION:
1. Teacher: Lesson plan, cellophanes.
2. Students:
+ Vocab: resident (n), effect (n), have an effect on, custumer (n),
(to) hold/held/held, (to) contact
+ Grammar: How to write a notice
III. PROCEDURES:
1. Check -up: (4’)
- Asks 2 Ss to write the words they learned in the previous lesson then
read the text fluently.
2. New lesson:
Teacher/s activities Ss/ activities
*) Lead-in: (1’)
- Shows a notice about school/s Y and Y
and checks the form of each part.
- Introduces the task of the lesson.
I. PRE-WRITING:
1. Vocabulary (8’)
+ Resident (n) (Example)
+ Effect (n) (Trans)
+ Have an effect on (Trans.)
Ex: Smoking has an effect on our health
+ Custumer (n) (Example)
+ (To) hold / held / held (Situation)
+ (To) contact (Trans.)
Ex: Please contact us at 834567
- Elicit the words from the Ss and says
them out.
- Write, check and instruct Ss to read.
- Use “ Matching” to check vocab. and
asks Ss to correct.
- Listen and answer.
- Listen to teacher.
- Try out & repeat chorally-individually.
- Give the meaning, stress and run
through the words.
- Match them with the Vietnamese
meaning.
2. Ordering (Part b - P.61) (7’)
*) Answer key:
- Give the notice in a jumbeled order.
- Ask them to work in groups to order it
into a complete notice.
- Get feedback and asks Ss to open their
books to check.
- Ask Ss to pick out the Form of the
notice and makes the Form more clearly
Form:
- Organizer
- Puspose of the meeting
- Date and Time
- Place to organize
- Person to contact
II. WHILE-WRITING: (12’)
* Write a notice. (Part 2-P.68)
- Ask to read part 2-P.68 to write a notice
- Go around to help Ss.
- Give out the cellophanes (about 4) and
asks Ss to write their notice in groups.
- Choose one notice and show it on the
overhead.
III. POST-WRITING: (10’)
- Read it through to make sure they
understand their meaning
- Work in four groups, share their ideas
and then order it.
- Give their orders and check their
results.
- Try out then copy it.
- Read it and write it individually, then
share their ideas in groups.
- Work in groups and write the notice on
the cellophanes.
- Share and complete their work, then
correct the form of the notice.
* Possible answer:
The school English Speaking Club

- Ask Ss to work into 4 groups to write a
notice
- Go round to help Ss.
- Choose two notices to present on the
overhead and checks with the whole
class.
- Share their ideas in groups to complete
the task.
- Give comments and make it better.
* Consolidation: (1’)
- Revise the way to write a notice through Post-stage.
IV. HOMEWORK: (2’)
- Asks Ss to complete their notices at home.
- Asks Ss to prepare: Language Focus - P.69-71.
+ Present perfect with for and since
+ Comparison with like, (not) as…as, (not) the same as, different from.
