LESSON 5: LANGUAGE FOCUS
I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Aims: - At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to revise and
further practice in the Present perfect with “for/since”, use Comparison
with “like, (not) as...as, (not) the same as, different from, not similar to”
2. Knowlege:
* Grammar: Present perfect tense, Comparison with “like, (not)
as........as, (not) the same as, different from, not similar to”
3. Skills: Speaking, Writing and Reading.
II. PREPARATION:
1. Teacher: Lesson plan, poster, cards.
2. Students:
+ Present perfect with for and since
+ Comparison with like, (not) as…as, (not) the same as, different from.
III. PROCEDURES:
1. Revision: (5’) Matching
Exercise 1-P.69:
T: hangs on the verbs and asks Ss to work in groups to match V-inf. with
Vp.p
Ss: work in groups, then go to the board and give their answers.
T: checks the answers with the whole class and tell Ss more about Vp.p
(Regular and irregular verbs)
2. New lesson:

- Asks Ss to look at part 2 and compare
For with Since.
- Makes it clearer with the diagram.
- Asks Ss to choose which ones go with

2. Use the present perfect to complete
the sentencess (Exercise 3 – p.69) (10’)
- Asks Ss to revise the use and structure
of the present perfect tense.
- Asks them about the way to complete
- Give their ideas about them.
- Follow teacher and take notes.
- Share their ideas in pairs.
- Speak out their answers and explain
